CEDI System (Continuous electro deionization) is a technology which combines ion exchange and membrane filtering.The result is a continuous regenerated mixed-bed.The CEDI plant is the correct solution, when water with a conductivity below 0.2 μS/cm is required, and the process replaces polishing filters in the shape of mixed-bed or equivalent.The technology is also addressed to customers who already have external regeneration of mixed-bed filters.In this case the CEDI plant can easily be adjusted to the existing installation and thus save the costs for regeneration as well as handling of ion exchange.
There are a number of advantages of CEDI over traditional mixed-bed filters:
1) No chemicals are to be used.
2) The CEDI plant is on the whole free from maintenance.
3) CEDI is a continuous process the regeneration of which does not require an interruption of the operation.
4) In most cases only a simple pretreatment in the shape of softening and reverse osmosis is required.
